Loan Options
Angus Health and Social Care Partnership have a range of equipment solutions available for loan (free of charge) from Independent Living Angus. Small adaptations can also be arranged once owner/ landlord permissions have been obtained, usually free of charge. There is a weekly cost associated with the community alarm and tele-care service.
It is very important that the Angus Health and Social Care Partnership know that the equipment they loan is suitable for both you, other household members and your home.

You have indicated that you have fallen in your home and you are worried about having more falls. There can be a variety of reasons for why you might have fallen, so it is important to consider these to try and reduce further falls from occurring. Alternatively, you can email Tay-UHB.angusfallsservice@nhs.net. The falls service can provide a full assessment of your situation and make recommendations that may help you reduce the risks of falls. They can also refer you on to other services that may be able to assist.

Angus Council/ Angus Health and Social Care Partnership have an agreement with North East Sensory Services (NESS) to provide a range of support for people with sight loss including information on eye conditions. A commode can be used as an alternative if you are unable to get to your toilet safely. There are different types of commodes available so it is important to ensure that you get one that is suitable for you.
Various commodes can be loaned to you following an assessment of your needs. First Contact Occupational Therapy provide free, impartial advice about a wide range of assistive equipment that may be able to assist you. You may also be able to trial some of these items before purchasing them. Angus Council do not fund items under £50.

Dundee & Angus Independent Living Centre is a place where you can try a range of equipment items free of charge. The centre is open 9-5pm weekdays and you can visit during these time or phone to make an appointment to ensure someone is free to show you around.
